Well, they’ve finally settled in. The mid-winter blues are here. They seem to creep up on me every year despite having lived through the past 36 New Brunswick winters. By now, you’d think my mind and body would have come to terms with this annual dance but for some reason, I’ve just never been able to get through without wishing for sunny days, heat, and clear roads to travel.
Thinking about it now is probably a bad idea. I know full-well we have another two months of this ahead of us but the thought of open windows, shorts, t-shirts, and countless road trips with the breeze blowing through the car are a little hard to block out today.
On the bright side, Saturday’s snowfall left the city in a beautiful state. Downtown streets looked like something right out of a painting. You take the good with the bad I guess.
